Summer Season

As we cruise into the busiest part of the year, we want to share fantastic offers and discounts from our media suppliers across South Africa and Africa. We have selected a few to whet your appetite. Let us know your upcoming marketing plans so we can assist.

The October-to-February window is the most competitive period in the South African outdoor advertising calendar. Festive season traffic volumes surge across coastal routes, shopping centres fill with gift-buyers, and airport dwell times increase as holiday travellers flow through. For clients who move quickly, the same window also delivers some of the best media deals of the year as owners try to fill any remaining inventory before the season locks in.

Why Summer Campaigns Plan Ahead

The most common mistake in summer campaign planning is a late brief. By the time a client decides to advertise in December, the best coastal and metro sites are already taken. Our advice: start conversations in September, confirm bookings in October, and have creative approved before November. That timeline gives us room to negotiate, secure preferred sites, and manage production without rushing.

Coastal routes are the standout media environment during the South African summer. The N2 between Cape Town and Hermanus, the Garden Route, the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, and the Eastern Cape beachfront corridors all see significant traffic increases from November through January. Standard format roadside billboards on these routes are booked fastest. If you want a coastal presence for the season, the brief needs to come now.

Current Deals Available

We are currently working with several of our long-standing media owner partners to bring discounted packages to clients for the upcoming summer season. These range from roadside positions on major metro arterials to shopping centre formats and coastal routes. Discounts vary by format, location, and campaign duration, and are subject to availability.

Rather than publishing a rate card here, we prefer to match deals to briefs. Tell us your target geography, audience, and budget window, and we will come back to you with the options that make the most sense for your campaign. Generic packages rarely deliver the best result. A brief-specific recommendation always will.

"Tell us your upcoming marketing plans so we can assist. The best deals this summer go to the clients who plan first."

Thinking Ahead to Autumn 2019

Summer is not the only season worth planning in advance. The post-festive period through February and March typically delivers good value on sites that were too competitive or too expensive to book in the run-up to December. If your brand needs visibility in the first quarter of 2019, now is a good time to begin that conversation too.

Contact us with your brief and we will put together a proposal covering available options, pricing, and production timelines. There is no obligation, and we will always give you our honest assessment of what will work best for your campaign rather than pushing what we happen to have available.
