In Touch Media is proud to have been accepted as a member of the Association for Communication and Advertising (ACA). The ACA is the official representative body for the communications professions in South Africa. It represents the country's most creative and successful agencies and was originally created to improve the credibility of agency, media, and client relationships. Being part of the ACA means operating to a recognised standard of professionalism and ethics, and it is a commitment we take seriously.
What the ACA Stands For
The Association for Communication and Advertising was established to give the South African marketing communications industry a unified voice. It advocates on behalf of agencies in regulatory matters, promotes ethical practice across the industry, and provides members with access to training, industry data, and a network of peers across advertising disciplines. For clients, working with an ACA member agency is a meaningful signal that the agency holds itself accountable to a professional standard beyond its own word.
For In Touch Media, ACA membership is both a recognition of where we have been and a statement of intent about where we are going. We have always operated as though accountability to our clients were the only standard that mattered. Having an industry body that formalises that commitment adds another layer of assurance for the brands who trust us with their OOH spend.
Looking at the Future of OOH
The outdoor advertising industry in South Africa is in a genuinely interesting period. Digital OOH formats are proliferating across major metro environments. Data tools that allow for audience measurement against OOH positions are becoming more accessible. Media owners are investing in inventory auditing and real-time performance reporting. The gap between what traditional static OOH could tell a client about campaign performance and what digital OOH can report is narrowing steadily.
This is not a threat to traditional outdoor. A well-placed billboard on a major arterial still delivers enormous reach and frequency at a cost-per-impression that most digital channels cannot approach in mass-market contexts. But it does mean that clients can, and should, expect more from their outdoor partners in terms of planning rigour, audience insight, and post-campaign reporting. In Touch Media is investing in its ability to deliver on those expectations.
Going Digital in Jo'burg
As noted in our previous communication regarding Lyn Jones's appointment as our Johannesburg Regional Manager, we are actively growing our footprint in Gauteng. Part of that growth involves deepening our relationships with digital OOH media owners in the Johannesburg market. The city has seen significant investment in roadside LED infrastructure over the past three years, and we want our clients to have first access to the best of that inventory.
If you are considering a digital OOH campaign in Johannesburg or Pretoria, this is a good time to brief us. We have current knowledge of what is available, what is performing, and what represents good value in the northern market.
As always, thank you for your continued support and for the trust you place in us with your campaigns. We look forward to another productive quarter.
